PROJECT: Screen Print A Greeting Card
Using black ink you will print and submit 10 completed cards of on at least three different colors of paper for grading.

Brainstorm/research designs for greeting cards.
Create at least 3 Greeting cards in the Greeting card template.
At least one should include text.All images should be vectorized.
With your teacher’s help choose the best design.
Create the film and process the screen.
Allow the screen to dry and prepare it with tape.
Align your design on the press.
Schedule a day and time when the Screen Printing Press is available.
Print your cards.

PROJECT: T-Shirt Screen Print
Choose two designs to screen print to a t-shirt.
Vectorize each image and size it inside of the “Seagull” Template.
Share your designs with the teacher, and together choose the best design.
Print a 13″ X 19″ film of the chosen design.
Using the X-Vactor exposure unit, expose your design to a screen.
Wash out your screen. Let it dry for 24 hours.
Use tape to prepare your screen for printing.

PROJECT: Multidimensional Illustration Screen Print
Complete a Four Dimensional drawing, outline it in black marker, make it digital using Adobe Capture, edit the file using Photoshop and/or Illustrator and place the final file in a 8” X 11” Adobe Illustrator canvas/document.
Transition the 8” X 11” to the 13″ X 19″ template.
Print the film.
Create a screen.
Screen 12 pieces of 9″ X 12″ cardboard.

Create a bordered sketch on paper or digital.
Determine the layers/levels.
Get the drawing approved by the teacher.

Trace the sketch with a fine black marker and sun it into Adobe Capture.
Transition the image to Adobe Illustrator.

PROJECT: Registration and Two Color Decals
Watch the following Edpuzzlue videos about making multiple color decals:

Roland Cut Studio: Registration and Multicolor Decals
Registration Marks and Vinyl Decals: How To
Using a PC and Rolland Cut Studio, create at least FOUR simple two color decals that simply use text.

At least TWO of the decals should use fonts/texts/type that YOU INSTALLED onto the PC.

(You might want to research/find some Fonts/text/types you like before you begin creating on a Rolland PC.)

One of the two color decals should read “RAIDERS”.

Each decal should be layered with two colors of vinyl.

The type in each decal should be at least 2.5 inches tall.

Submit: 12 completed TWO color decals.

PROJECT: FOAM BOARD POSTER PRINTS
1. Create a folder on your desktop called: “My Posters”

2. Conduct Google Image searches to find your favorite photographs, design, and/or posters.

(Make sure and active >TOOLS >SIZE >LARGE to generate the largest possible images.)

3. Save at least 20 LARGE images you like in your “My Posters” folder.

4. Share this with your teacher.

5. You will be printing and mounting FIVE of your favorites to foam board.

PROJECT: Logo Design (Recognizable Redesign)
Redesign a prominent logo to represent Twin Valley, Twin Valley Raiders, or Twin Valley Graphic Arts.

Download and Install different Fonts.

Use Photoshop and Illustrator where/when needed.

Your final designs should be a 12″ X 12″ or larger Adobe Illustrator file.

PROJECT: Stenciling Vintage Signs
Create TWO stenciled signs that demonstrate your ability to work with dimension, material, and process.

RESEARCH

In a Google Doc show evidence of 10 quotes for your signage.

After your quote have been approved….

MATERIAL

Choose a piece of wood or other material.

If wood, determine where the top and bottom will be and how the material will sit when finished.

Measure the material.

Document the measurement.

ANTIQUE

Rough up the material with varied tools provided.

Apply a lite coat of pain to both side s of the sign.

Use sand paper to antique sign edges.

DESIGN

Draw a sketch that illustrates the shape and dimensions of the material.

Create four thumbnail sketches that illustrate your design ideas.

With the teacher help choose the best design.

Your design should include Type and Graphics (if desired).

Create you design in Rolland Cut Studio.

Cut your design into vinyl.

Weeded the opposite of your design to create a stencil.

Carefully peal and place your design onto your material.

Tape off any areas not covered by the stencil.

Paint the stenciled material with at least two coats.

DAB DAB DAB, Less is MORE.

Remove the stencil.
