Each day students will be presented with a photograph and asked to give that photograph a 2-3 word title that demonstrates figurative language (alliteration, metaphor, simile, etc.) and write three sentences that tells a story about the picture.
Answers for this figurative language short writing activity can be anything and the entire activity might not take more than 5 minutes.
In addition to the language component this warm-up/participation exercise prompts students to be prepared to participate in the day’s guided lesson.
Participation and classwork activities can significantly impact final grades.
